Shane Robison was, most recently, Chairman and CEO of Fusion-io, Inc. - a computer hardware and software systems company (acquired by SanDisk in 2014).The Fusion ioMemory platform accelerates enterprise applications such as databases, virtualization, cloud computing, big data by integrating hardware and software to overcome the limitations of legacy architectures and specialized hardware.
Shane retired from Hewlett Packard in November of 2011 as Executive Vice President, Chief Strategy and Technology Officer. The office of Strategy and Technology included the senior chief technology officers and the director of HP Labs. Shane sponsored the development of the company's global technical community and its research initiatives. As head of strategy and corporate development, he drove mergers and acquisitions, venture capital relationships, global strategic alliances, as well as HP’s Cloud Services and Business Solutions groups.
Shane has been a technology executive in Silicon Valley for three decades, previously serving as SVP and Chief Strategy and Technology Officer at Compaq. As president of Internet Technology and Development at AT&T Labs, he led a team responsible for the architecture, planning and development of AT&T's Internet technologies and services. Shane has, also, served in leadership positions at Cadence Design, Apple Computer and Schlumberger Research.
Shane was a board member at Fusion-io, Altera and ShoreTel corporations. He continues to serve as an advisor and consultant to various start up companies and venture capital firms.
In 2004, Shane was named one of the world's 25 most influential chief technology officers by InfoWorld. He is a frequent speaker on technology trends and innovation at leading business and industry conferences worldwide.
Shane received his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from the University of Utah.
